The idleness of an idea:What should one do with an idea whose time has come (to die)? The case of slogans in public action.

Summary
Ideas, concepts, categories, etc.: all the ideal entities that we have shaped – and which in turn shape us – are underpinned by specific mesological configurations (mesological: relating to the living environment). They are based on, are embedded within, and are only meaningful within certain material, infrastructural, ecological, climatic, hydrological, geological and other such arrangements.
If the latter change, then the same must apply to such entities. This is precisely what is happening with the transition from the Holocene to the Anthropocene, which signifies a shift in the oecumene: we must replace our old Holocene ideas with new Anthropocene ones. How does such a process – which poses a challenge for management criticism given the crisis it currently faces – unfold? We shall explore this by examining the guiding principles that currently govern public policy, many of whose manifestations are now being undermined (for example: regional attractiveness).

Keywords : regional attractiveness, pragmatism; zombie ideas; regional public policy; subtractive criticism.
Discussion : Saphia Aït Ouarabi and Sofiane El Ouartassi (AMU – LEST).
Animation : Marguerite Coron (AMU – LEST).
