Seminar on Work, Temporality and Technique (3T)

19 November @ 1.00 pm - 6.00 pm

This seminar examines work in its various synchronic dimensions (activity and the work itself), diachronic dimensions (becoming, creation and collective action) and heterochronic dimensions (literally ‘another time’, temporal shifts and gaps signifying desynchronised temporalities¹). In this sense, it will aim to link work closely to the question of temporality – working hours, but also work in the making, particularly the redefinitions of the division between employment and labour – as well as to the question of technology, the origins and composition of which have, ultimately, been less studied by the social sciences.
