The Laboratory for the Economics and Sociology of Work (LEST) is a Joint Research Unit (UMR 7317) from the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and’Aix-Marseille University (amU). Founded in 1969, it is recognised as one of the leading laboratories in labour and social sciences.
The laboratory is developing an approach interdisciplinary, including, in particular, sociology, economics, political science, law and management in order to analyse the changes in work, organisations and workplace relations.
Research carried out at LEST focuses on contemporary changes in the world of work : organisational changes, developments in the labour market, professional and international mobility, institutional regulations, and the effects of ecological, technological and social transitions.
Through its scientific publications, his national and international research projects and its involvement in public debates, LEST helps to improve our understanding of workplace dynamics and their effects on inequalities, social mobility and forms of social organisation.
