Claude Paraponaris is Professor Emeritus of Management Sciences at the University of Aix-Marseille. His research focuses on the long-term history of economic organisations from the perspective of socio-technical dynamics. Having previously devoted his research to production systems and supply chains, international research and development organisations, and finally mechanisms for sharing scientific and technical knowledge within the economy, he has developed a pragmatist inquiry that examines the direction of thought in the Anthropocene era and its manifestations in the practices of ecological bifurcation. In doing so, he seeks to formulate a philosophy of movement designed to enable us to address with greater equanimity the scale of the transformations revealed to us by Earth and climate sciences.
