My research focuses on collective or individual ideals, usually in relation to work. I explore the possibilities of developing ways of life that are experienced as alternatives – that is, utopias – but also the limitations and difficulties of these experiments.
It is through the work I have explored these issues independently (the profession of artistic ceramist in France, then the Coopératives d’Activité et d’Emploi) and, since 2022, I have been examining these issues through the lens of young Africans’ migration to Europe, using ethnographic methods in France and various cities in Morocco as part of the ANR MIJMA project led by Mr El Miri.
Finally, I am also exploring methodological considerations and epistemological practices related to researchers’ involvement in fieldwork and to the international circulation of scientific knowledge.
Since 2017, I have also been giving lesson mainly at Aix-Marseille University, and more sporadically at the Institut d’Études Politiques d’Aix-en-Provence and the International University of Rabat (UIR, Morocco).
Appointed in 2015 by the CNU to the post of Senior Lecturer in Sections 19 – sociology, 04 – political science and 20 – anthropology.
