Léa Rodriguez is a PhD student in sociology at Aix-Marseille University, within the LEST (CNRS). Her research focuses on the work experiences of women with autism and the ways in which they build their autonomy as their lives unfold.
As part of his PhD thesis, Stepping outside the bubble: the role of social interaction in the work experience of women with autism, she examines different forms of work — employment, domestic and parental work, voluntary, artistic or therapeutic activities — and their role in processes of subjectivation. Through interviews with autistic women, she examines, in particular, social norms of autonomy and how these intersect with gender and disability.
